The ECO Cultural Institute (ECI), in line with its mission to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the ECO region, is pleased to host a special cultural and culinary event titled:
” Exploring Extreme Gastronomy Destinations of Iran – Guilan & Yazd: The Most & Least Rainy Provinces.”
This unique event will take place on Thursday, 15 May 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00, at the ECI headquarters in Tehran .
The program offers a rare opportunity to explore the contrasting culinary cultures of two distinct Iranian provinces: the lush, rainy landscapes of Guilan and the arid deserts of Yazd. It aims to showcase the diversity of Iran’s traditional foodways as well as its cultural richness.
The event will feature:
Cultural showcases and museum-style presentations
Tasting of traditional snacks and local delicacies from Guilan and Yazd
Immersive virtual tours of both provinces presented by professional tour guides
As part of ECI’s broader initiative to promote cultural exchange and regional understanding, this program underlines the Institute’s commitment to fostering appreciation of local traditions, arts, and culinary heritage among ECO Member States.
