The Punjab government hosted a dinner for the 31-member delegation from the ECO Cultural Institute, Tehran, to celebrate Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s 147th birth anniversary and his message of humanity and cultural harmony.
The delegation, led by Dr. Saad Khan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute, included representatives from Iran, Afghanistan, Egypt, Kuwait, Spain, and the UK, participating in the International Iqbal Conference 2024.
On behalf of Punjab’s Chief Minister Marium Nawaz, the distinguished guests were welcomed by Punjab’s Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Information and Culture Minister Uzma Bukhari, and Education Minister Rana Sikandar.
Dr. Saad Khan praised Punjab’s hospitality, noting this was the first opportunity for global Iqbal scholars to connect with Punjab.
Other participants at the event included various government officials, professors, and researchers from different universities, along with representatives from cultural and heritage organizations.
