On Thursday, February 22, 2024, Tajik musicians and artists performed at the auditorium of the ECO Cultural Institute, stirring the audience with their performances, denoting a message of peace, friendship, and kindness.
This grand event was organized by the ECI in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tehran.The cultural-artistic ceremony, held under the title “Tajikistan Traditional Music Night”, was attended by H.E. Mr. Davlat Safar, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Tajikistan and head of the country’s artistic delegation, H.E. Mr. Nizomiddin Zohidi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tehran, some ambassadors and members of diplomatic missions, a few former Iranian ambassadors to Tajikistan, and cultural and academic figures from the region.
Prominent figures like Shahram Nazeri and Hossein Alizadeh graced the event with their presence, adding to the splendor of this cultural and artistic event. In this ceremony, the Ambassador of Tajikistan commemorated the memory of the recently deceased famous and unique singer and artist of Tajikistan Mr. Davlatmand Khalof and considered his cooperation with famous Iranian artists such as Mr. Nazeri and Mr. Alizadeh as the symbol of cultural interactions and affinity between Iran and Tajikistan, the nations whose historical self-identity and civilization are well known.
The celebration of two musical achievements in the history of Tajikistan, “Shash Maqam” and “Falak”, was one of the main reasons for this grand event. The ambassador of Tajikistan also referred to their historical background and their derivation from the works of Barbad Rameshgar. Mr Zohidi, referring to the inscription of them on the UNESCO World Intangible Heritage List, reminded that these two musical genres have been a framework for expressing the desires of the Tajik people over several centuries and have contributed to the spiritual growth of the people of Tajikistan and the region.H.E. Mr. Davlat Safar, the Deputy Minister of Culture of Tajikistan, also referred to the continuous cultural relations between Iran and Tajikistan in his speech and elaborated on the two unique treasures “Falak” and “Shash Maqam”.
During this grand ceremony, several diverse music groups from Tajikistan, performing pieces in the two genres, Falak and Shash Maqam, enthralled the listeners. The performance of the instrumental music of the famous song “Door Mashav!” (don’t go away), by Iranian artists was also another attractive part of the ceremony.
One of the main parts of this event was the presentation of a memorial plaque of Mr. Davlatmand Khalov by Mr. Nazeri and Mr. Alizadeh to his family. Also, cultural figures and diplomats launched the book “Tarazoi Chashm” (Eye Scale), the poems of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan.
It should be noted that on the sidelines of this artistic event, national costumes, handicrafts, and works of Tajik painters were exhibited.
