On the occasion of the commemoration of Hakeem Abai Qunanbayov, the ECO Cultural Institute in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Tehran, will hold a ceremony entitled “Abai’s Legacy, World Pride of Kazakhstan”, on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the ECI Headquarter.
According to the ECI, at this international seminar, H.E. Mr. Ontalap Onallbayev, Honorable Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Dr. Saad Khan, Honorable President of ECI, Mr. Hussein Aghazadeh, Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty of Kazakhstan, Ms. Bakhtzhamal Ospannova, Director of the National Library of Kazakhstan, and a group of the professors, publishers and researchers from Iran and Kazakhstan will present speeches on Abai’s personality and thoughts. At the end of the Ceremony, an Abai's woven photo tapestry and a dedicated music album will be unveiled.
Hakeem Abai was a poet, writer, philosopher and composer born in 1845 in eastern Kazakhstan. Some of the poems by this renowned Kazakh Poet have been translated into various languages, including Persian, and are available to the enthusiasts.
