On September 8, 2024, Dr. Saad Khan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI), visited the Malek National Library and Museum. During his visit, he met with Mr. Amir Khorakiyan, President of the Malek National Library and Museum, Mr. Reza Dabirinejad, Head of the Malek National Museum, and Mr. Noshad Roukni, Head of the Malek National Library. They discussed expanding cooperation to promote their shared historical heritage.
Dr. Khan shared his vision and plans, emphasizing the ECI’s objectives in fostering cultural convergence, particularly through historical interactions involving libraries and museums. He highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy and proposed several joint initiatives, including organizing exhibitions of museum works in ECO member countries, hosting seminars or webinars with researchers in history and art, conducting museum tours, and exchanging books.
Mr. Khorakiyan welcomed Dr. Khan’s proposals and highlighted the historical significance and endowment culture of the Malek Museum and Library. He expressed the institution’s readiness to enhance cooperation with the ECI.
Experts from the ECO Cultural Institute also attended the meeting and offered additional suggestions for collaboration between museums and libraries in the ECO region.
