The launch ceremony for the new book "Selection of Poems by Mehdi Mozafari Savoji" took place on October 1, 2024, at the International Diplomatic Gallery of the ECO Cultural Institute. The event was attended by prominent Iranian artists and poetry enthusiasts.
Dr. Saad Khan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute, delivered an opening speech, highlighting the multifaceted nature of Mr. Mozafari Savoji's contributions to art and poetry. He remarked, “Poets are the bearers of wisdom, enlightenment, and knowledge. A poet who engages in research and writing, and is well-versed in cinema, theater, painting, and both written and oral traditions, embodies the essence of a true artist. Mr. Mozafari Savoji is one of those rare figures in today’s literature.”
During the ceremony, distinguished literature professors and veteran Iranian artists, including Dr. Bahaedin Khoramshahi, Mr. Masoud Kimiayie, Mr. Ali Nasirian, Mr. Ardeshir Rostami, Mr. Afshin Abdollahi, and Ms. Lila Kordbacheh, spoke about Mr. Savoji's work as a poet and researcher of Persian language and literature, which encompasses poetry, research, and oral histories of Persian art and literature.
Mr. Shah Mansoor Shah Mirza, a cultural expert from Tajikistan at the ECO Cultural Institute, served as the secretary for the event. Throughout the ceremony, speakers recited poems by Mr. Savoji, and the Afghan Kaliveh Music Group performed beautiful pieces of music and poetry in Farsi and Urdu.
The new book, which features selections from seven poetry collections, spans 244 pages and was published by Morvarid Publishing House in 1403 (2024).
