President of the ECO Cultural Institute Highlights Historic Ties Between Iran, Pakistan, and Broader South Asia at “Kalila and Dimna” International Conference

H.E. Dr. Saad Khan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute, delivered a compelling speech at the Kalila and Dimna international conference on February 12, 2025, at Allameh Tabataba’i University, where he reflected on the longstanding relationships between Iran, Pakistan, and Broader South Asia. In his address, Dr. Khan highlighted the cultural and historical connections that have bound these nations together for centuries, underscoring the significance of marriage as a symbol of these ties.

He shared examples of notable unions involving Iranian women, such as Noor Jahan, the Queen of Emperor Jahangir; Mumtaz Mahal, the wife of Shah Jahan; Nahid Mirza, the Iranian first lady of the President of Pakistan; and Nosrat Esfahani, the Iranian first lady of another Pakistani president. These marriages stand as powerful symbols of the deep-rooted bonds between the people of these countries.

In his speech, Dr. Khan expressed hope for the continued growth of academic, scientific, and cultural relations between these nations. He emphasized the importance of fostering stronger cooperation in these fields to create a brighter and more interconnected future.
