The Common Voice of Our Culture: Mullah Nasreddin

The ECO Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute Tehran and Candle-Fog Publications, hosted the event “The Common Voice of Our Culture: Mullah Nasreddin” in Tehran, celebrating the timeless cultural legacy of Nasreddin Hoca, a central figure in Turkish folklore.
The program began with the national anthems of Iran and Türkiye, followed by a promotional video about the ECO Cultural Institute. H.E. Dr. Saad S. Khan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute, opened the event, followed by remarks from H.E. Prof. Dr. Hicabi Kırlangıç, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Iran, emphasizing the shared cultural ties between the two countries.
Three esteemed speakers discussed the cultural and philosophical significance of Mullah Nasreddin. Dr. Seyfi Yıldırım from Gazi University from Türkiye, Abbas Ahmedvend from Shahid Beheshti University, and Dr. Fatima Perchakani from Kharazmi University shared their insights into his legacy.
The event concluded with the launch of the “Mullah Nasreddin” book, published by Candle-Fog Publications, with a formal book unveiling by Ambassador Kırlangıç and Dr. Khan, followed by a reception for attendees.
This event highlighted the importance of Nasrettin Hoca’s enduring wisdom and his cultural impact, bridging between Türkiye and ECO region`s heritage.
