The Self-Taught Artists Exhibition was officially inaugurated on Thursday, May 29, 2025 (8 Khordad 1404), at the ECO Cultural Institute, in the presence of cultural figures, artists, and representatives from relevant institutions.
Dr. Saad Khan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute, delivered opening remarks emphasizing the significant role of self-taught artists in enriching regional culture and fostering cultural diplomacy. Mr. Ali Ezzati, Head of the Self-Taught Artists Association, also highlighted the objectives and capacities of this unique artistic community.
The event featured keynote speeches by prominent figures including Dr. Mohammad Motavaselani (film director), Ms. Farideh Sana’atgar, Ms. Afsaneh Ehsani, and Mr. Ali Mirzajani, offering diverse perspectives on self-taught art and its social impact.
Artistic performances included four musical pieces by “Dastan” group—comprising seven deaf girls—and a three-part choral performance by the “Avaye Shadi” choir, both warmly received by the audience.
The ceremony concluded with the official opening of the art exhibition, where guests had the opportunity to engage directly with the artists. A reception and networking session followed, bringing the event to a close in a warm and interactive atmosphere.
