The three-day International Iqbal Conference, organized by the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) in collaboration with Iqbal Academy Pakistan, concluded at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Tuesday.
Chaired by Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali, Chairman of the Muslim Institute Islamabad, the closing session featured Barrister Walid Iqbal as the special guest. Dr. Saad Khan, President of ECI, and Dr. Asghar Masoodi, Director General of Khana-e-Farhang Iran, were also in attendance, along with the grandsons of Allama Iqbal, adding to the significance of the occasion.
In his remarks, Dr. Saad expressed gratitude for the success of the event. The conference gathered delegates from over ten countries, who highlighted the importance of Iqbal’s philosophy in addressing global issues and strengthening international relations.
The conference concluded with key recommendations, including the promotion of comparative studies of national poets in ECO member states and translations of Iqbal’s works. Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali, Walid Iqbal, and Dr. Asghar Masoodi emphasized Iqbal’s impact as a global philosopher and poet.
The event ended with the presentation of honorary shields to scholars and dignitaries and a musical performance celebrating Iqbal’s poetry through flute and tabla.
